A Crocodile and An Eagle

A trip to Davao for a family event gave us an opportunity to tour around the city and to the Philippine Eagle Center where we had an enchanting time watching the Philippine Eages in their huge cages. The Philippine eagle is an endangered species and much attention to its conservation is being led by the Philippine Eagle Foundation. This non-profit organization initiated various programs to help conserve the Philippine eagle from extinction. The Philippine eagle is majestic indeed and one would wonder how reckless we had been in the past killing these magnificent birds near extinction. With the Philippine Eagle Foundation hard at work, we are comforted with the hope that our children and grandchildren may still have the chance to marvel at the beauty of these creatures. The Philippine Eagle Center should be a must-visit place in your itinerary when you visit Davao.

Then we heard shrieks of fright and amazement from the children ahead of us on the walk way around the park. And what do you know, another respectable, but maybe considered less beautiful, creature was there in a position that seemed endlessly waiting for food to come into its mouth. The crocodile had its mouth wide open and was sitting still the whole time we were there. Warming itself in the sun maybe or perhaps watching us wondering if we were good enough for dinner.
